My niece is now a Mrs!

How time flies.  Looks like my niece Melissa is all grown up!  Susan and I had a wonderful time photographing Melissa and Ryan’s wedding day.  What made it even more special was Chloe’s  (our 7 yr old daughter) excitement at being Melissa’s flower girl.  Chloe was so excited she was up till midnight the evening before the wedding – not sure if Melissa and Ryan were also up all night with nervous energy!

We were all glad for the sea breeze which met us in the park where the ceremony was held and for the drop in temperature from the previous day.  All in all it was a terrific day.  I even managed to get up and dance without causing any earth tremors.  Thank you Melissa and Ryan for allowing us to be a part of your special day. We pray God’s blessing in your life together.

Girls being girls! Leizel’s Birthday at the Beach

Susan had fun photographing Leizel’s surprise birthday gathering at the beach.  From the photos taken it seems obvious the ladies had a wonderful time celebrating together.  Looks like Leizel’s first ever surprise party was a success!

Girls being Girls

We pray the Lord will bless Leizel abundantly.

Wanneroo Show

What great fun!  We were thrilled to be the official photographers for the Wanneroo Show.   It was a real family affair with numerous fun rides, exhibits and evening fireworks.  Chloe also joined us, and some of her highlights were the camel ride,  catching up with a few friends, and placing first in a number of exhibits – including four best photos and three seconds in her age group (Chloe is 7)!  We may well have to add her to the SD Photos staff if her photographic skills continue to progress as it is.

Sweet, vivacious Lizzie!

The opportunity to photograph Lizzie was simply delightful.  It was our privilege to photograph Lizzie’s parents, Helen & Neil’s wedding.  To make things even more special, Helen is Susan’s niece.   All I can say is Lizzie is a sweet, vivacious little bub with a friendly disposition – I was particularly touched by the fact that Lizzie is one of the few bubs who has not cried when confronted by my dark, bearded face and loud voice!   She is obviously a very discerning young person who is not fooled by appearances !!!

We are looking forward to their move from the UK to Perth next year and wish them every blessing as they prepare and plan for their life here down under.  Hopefully Neil will learn to support Australia in Cricket and Rugby once over here!

Josephine & Dean’s Day

We had a wonderful, fun and relaxed shoot with Josephine and Dean on their wedding day.  The weather was beautiful with all concerned friendly, encouraging and doing their part to help celebrate Jo and Dean’s marriage.  Parliament house also proved a good backdrop for our photos.

Bride & Groom Portrait

Thank you Josephine and Dean for the privilege of helping you capture some special moments for you to remember and cherish.  May you enjoy your life together in marriage.

Oh my, how much they have grown!

It is simply amazing how time flies by so quickly.  It doesn’t seem all that long ago when Susan photographed young Georgina and Petar as cute little ‘bubs’ still in nappies.  Yet here they are now so grown up with their own distinct personalities and dispositions

Thank you Sanja & Goce for letting us share in the life of your young family. May you have wisdom and joy in nurturing Petar & Georgina in this their formative years.

Natasha & Nick

It is never just another wedding shoot.  Each couple we meet is unique and each wedding we are invited to photograph is a wonderful privilege.  We enjoyed photographing Natasha and Nick’s wedding day.   I particularly enjoyed the way Nick’s rugged masculine presence complemented Natasha’s feminine elegance – they just seemed to ‘fit’ together as a couple.  It was also encouraging to finally come across a groom with a beard!!!  We seem to be rare breed :)

Girls’ Brigade WA 2011 Awards Celebration

Girls Brigade 2011 WA

Susan once again had the privilege of photographing The Girls’ Brigade Western Australia Awards Night for 2011 – having done so since 2009.  The achievements of these young ladies and the outward expression of their Christian faith continues to be very encouraging.  We look forward to our daughter, Chloe, taking part in the new company starting up in our home church in 2012.

Natalie & Paul

In the ‘Good Book’, the rainbow is a sign of God’s covenant.  How wonderfully appropriate to have had a rainbow in the sky as we took photos of Natalie and Paul.  It was an immense privilege for us to join Natalie and Paul’s friends and family to witness and celebrate their covenant of marriage before God.  It was quite apparent to all present that Natalie and Paul were not only united in love for each other, but also in their love of Jesus.

Thank you for trusting us to photograph your wedding day. Our heartfelt prayer is for the Lord’s blessing in your marriage – may His love enfold you and empower you to keep the covenant you have entered into as husband and wife.

Kelly & Shawn

Mack trucks, lots of trees and laid back, friendly folk – yes, it’s a country wedding!  Susan and I (and yes, even our little Chloe) enjoyed the trip down to Manjimup for Kelly and Shawn’s wedding.  Their unassuming nature and relaxed, friendly outlook made it a great day for all.  The guys with their trucks were also very helpful and accommodating, happily moving and parking their trucks to fit the photo shoot.  It was impressive to see them reverse and park their trucks with greater precision than Susan does in our much smaller car! (Gulp… hope Susan doesn’t read this.)

Niki & Paul

The ‘Good Book’ says “Love is patient…“. Well Niki and Paul have certainly shown great patience waiting for this blog to finally go on-line. For a number of reasons, not all in our control, the blog and face book pages of our site has been stuck in time. I am so glad we have managed to give it a kick start to share some images from Niki and Paul’s special day. We hope their friends and family will enjoy the wonderful memories which spring to mind when viewing these photos.

Perth Bride and Groom Wedding

Thank you Niki and Paul for your patience. We wish you all the best in your journey together as husband and wife.

David :)
