Two become one!

Monica and Rob’s marriage, as described during the wedding service, is in many ways the wonderful union of not only a man and a woman, but of Macedonian and Italian, Orthodox and Catholic – a beautiful expression of how the Good Book says the “two shall become one”. It was wonderful to see how friends and relatives from two diverse cultures and traditions were at one in their celebration of Monica & Rob’s public declaration of their love and intention to be one in marriage. One striking memory of the day – for me at least – was the way Susan, a seasoned wedding photographer, was moved to tears during a couple of very moving and tender moments during the speeches at the reception.
We pray Monica and Rob will grow in love and be blessed in their journey through life together as husband and wife.

Georgina & Petar

It has been a delightful experience to know and photograph young Georgina and her brother, Petar, from the day they were born. I just wish they were not growing up so fast – as it makes me more aware of my aging bones and greying hair (well what’s still left on my scalp!!). Their mum and dad, Sanja and Goce, are indeed blessed to have two healthy and happy children.
May Georgina and Petar, along with our daughter, Chloe, grow in health and character.

What can I say? Monica and Rob have infectious smiles and were fun to shoot in our studio. And once Monica starts to laugh ‘Look Out’! … you too will soon find yourself joining in.

Maree & Goce

A typical Macedonian wedding is an all day affair full of tradition and celebration. Maree and Goce’s day was no different and despite the long day they remained full of energy and enthusiastically allowed us to go about recording their special moments. The weather was simply superb and lent itself to some wonderful photo opportunities. Narelle and Steve’s Special day …

Watching Narelle and Steve interact with each other on their special day left no doubt they were in love and belonged together. It was also quite refreshing to see their faith in God so transparently reflected in the church service and at the reception.
It was also rather special for us as we had previously photographed Narelle’s brother Brendan and Megan’s wedding day. It is always a satisfying privilege when members of the same family choose us to photograph their special memories.
We pray their life together will be richly blessed with love and happiness..

We’ve had a make-over!

If you were looking for Shaggy Dog Productions you have not been hijacked. We have had a name change and slight make-over to our website. So welcome to SD Photos. We finally thought it was time to change our name to something less of a mouthful! Hopefully we will also no longer get calls asking if we groom dogs :)
While Shaggy Dog Productions has served us well, we thought we would adopt a name which was more directly related to what we do and who we are. It is also much easier to type the email or web site address. Of course, our daughter Chloe thinks it should be SDC Photos. After all, as she rightly points out, our family consists of Susan, David and Chloe! Perhaps we will include ‘C’ in the name when Chloe is old enough and change our name to SDC Photos.

Rebekah & Anthony

What a wonderful trip it was driving down to Manjimup to shoot Rebekah and Anthony’s wedding. Despite the forecast of rain, there was only the slightest hint of a few drizzles, not enough to get in the way of a lovely wedding ceremony . It was a terrific rural wedding. A very laid back affair with plenty of country humour and friendliness. Here are just some of the images we were able to capture on Rebekah and Anthony’s special day.

Our friend, Maria …

This is Eliana, the newest addition to our friend Maria’s family. We have known Maria for a very long time, starting as a colleague of mine at UWA, to a live-in friend in our home – surviving the experience twice!
We lost touch for a few years, but when we finally caught up again, she was married to Edwin, and a mother with three children: Benjamin, Enrico and Eliana. We had a great time catching up, taking photos and watching our Chloe, enjoying the opportunity to play with the kids.
It really is a blessing to have bonds of friendship which do not diminish with time and has the strength to weather the storms which life brings from time to time.

Karen & Martin – simply relaxed!

I am so glad I was able to tag along on Karen and Martin’s wedding day! I was sick in bed the day Karen and Martin met with Susan to finalise the booking for their wedding photos. There was even some doubt if I would make it on the day.
Their wedding was one of the most relaxed we have had the privilege of shooting. It was a simple, unassuming affair which delightfully celebrated Karen and Martin’s love and heartfelt devotion towards each other.
We pray their life together will be richly blessed as they journey through life as husband and wife.

Let’s elope – well sort of!

I guess this is as near as we’ve ever come to a couple who chose to run away and elope – it’s one wedding I wish I was able to help Susan shoot.
It’s not every day you get a call from the other side of Australia, asking if you were able to shoot a wedding all the way over here in Perth. Even more intriguing, the ‘bride-to-be’ doesn’t know it will be in Perth. In addition, you are told there would be no guests, and the only people present would be the bride, groom, celebrant, two witnesses chosen by the celebrant (unknown to the couple) and you. Now isn’t that different!
Anyway, Liz and Matt were a lovely couple and by all accounts it was indeed a most special wedding. How romantic! Susan came home thrilled to have been a part of it.
