Oh my, how much they have grown!

It is simply amazing how time flies by so quickly.  It doesn’t seem all that long ago when Susan photographed young Georgina and Petar as cute little ‘bubs’ still in nappies.  Yet here they are now so grown up with their own distinct personalities and dispositions

Thank you Sanja & Goce for letting us share in the life of your young family. May you have wisdom and joy in nurturing Petar & Georgina in this their formative years.

Sweet, vivacious Lizzie!

The opportunity to photograph Lizzie was simply delightful.  It was our privilege to photograph Lizzie’s parents, Helen & Neil’s wedding.  To make things even more special, Helen is Susan’s niece.   All I can say is Lizzie is a sweet, vivacious little bub with a friendly disposition – I was particularly touched by the fact that Lizzie is one of the few bubs who has not cried when confronted by my dark, bearded face and loud voice!   She is obviously a very discerning young person who is not fooled by appearances !!!

We are looking forward to their move from the UK to Perth next year and wish them every blessing as they prepare and plan for their life here down under.  Hopefully Neil will learn to support Australia in Cricket and Rugby once over here!

Snezana & Dejan

‘Snez’ and Dejan have been fun and very easy to get to know.  They have a great sense of humour – well, at least they laugh at my jokes! – and were very relaxed at their pre-wedding shoot.  So much so, our six year old Chloe had fun being allowed to also photograph ‘Snez’ and Dejan in our studio.  Dejan thought Chloe did such a great job he even ordered a print of one she took of him.  The pressure is now on for mum and dad to do equally well.  After all, we can’t have a six year old out shoot us!

Fun aside, ‘Snez” and Dejan seem perfect for each other with ‘Snez’ being the beautiful calming influence to Dejan’s carefree jovial nature.  We look forward to capturing their wedding day in a couple of weeks.

Georgina & Petar

It has been a delightful experience to know and photograph young Georgina and her brother, Petar, from the day they were born.  I just wish they were not growing up so fast – as it makes me more aware of my aging bones and greying hair (well what’s still left on my scalp!!).  Their mum and dad, Sanja and Goce, are indeed blessed to have two healthy and happy children.

May Georgina and Petar, along with our daughter, Chloe, grow in health and character.

Monica & Rob – Stop that laughing!

What can I say?  Monica and Rob have infectious smiles and were fun to shoot in our studio.  And once Monica starts to laugh ‘Look Out’!  …  you too will soon find yourself joining in.

Engagement PortraitThey certainly seem to be just right for each other.  We look forward to capturing their wedding day in a couple of weeks.

Our friend, Maria …

Maria and family - Shaggy Dog ProductionsThis is Eliana, the newest addition to our friend Maria’s family. We have known Maria for a very long time, starting as a colleague of mine at UWA, to a live-in friend in our home – surviving the experience twice!

We lost touch for a few years, but when we finally caught up again, she was married to Edwin, and a mother with three children: Benjamin, Enrico and Eliana. We had a great time catching up, taking photos and watching our Chloe, enjoying the opportunity to play with the kids.

It really is a blessing to have bonds of friendship which do not diminish with time and has the strength to weather the storms which life brings from time to time.

Let’s elope – well sort of!

Liz and Matthew Portrait - Shaggy Dog ProductionsI guess this is as near as we’ve ever come to a couple who chose to run away and elope – it’s one wedding I wish I was able to help Susan shoot.

It’s not every day you get a call from the other side of Australia, asking if you were able to shoot a wedding all the way over here in Perth. Even more intriguing, the ‘bride-to-be’ doesn’t know it will be in Perth. In addition, you are told there would be no guests, and the only people present would be the bride, groom, celebrant, two witnesses chosen by the celebrant (unknown to the couple) and you. Now isn’t that different!

Anyway, Liz and Matt were a lovely couple and by all accounts it was indeed a most special wedding. How romantic! Susan came home thrilled to have been a part of it.

Young Demi …

Young Demi - Shaggy Dog ProductionsThere is something quite inexplicably special about photographing young babies. They are a wonderful miracle of life – so small, so dependant and yet so unexpectedly resilient.

Young Demi’s entry into our world was six weeks premature and understandably a little fragile. Yet here she is now, quite content and oblivious to her precarious birth and the concerns that surrounded her.

I never cease to be touched when viewing images of babies and the obvious pride and joy that radiates in the face of the parents. What a blessing they are, and what an enormous responsibility for parents.

Is Shyla 8 months already?

Shyla Portrait - Shaggy Dog ProductionsTime certainly seems to fly by, especially as we watch little ones, like Shyla, growing up so quickly.

It only seems like yesterday when Susan last photographed young Shyla, and here she is 8 months old already.

Being a parent, I have come to appreciate how precious it is to enjoy each moment of a child’s life – one moment they are a tiny babe laying on your chest and the next moment they are a 5 year old bundle of energy zipping around the house. Well, at least that’s the way it has been for me with our daughter Chloe.

More than skin deep

Stephanie - Shaggy Dog ProductionsTo meet and chat with Stephanie (Chloe’s ballet teacher in 2008) and her mum, is to realise that sometimes beauty is more than skin deep. Steph is a lovely young lady, and her face simply radiates her caring and vibrant personality. As for her mum, Irene, I’m sure she could be a billionaire if she could bottle and sell her genetic code. Many women, and even some men, would kill to look so fine after raising a 19 year old daughter! We wish Steph all the best in her studies to be a nurse.

The Derry Family

Derry Family Portrait - Shaggy Dog ProductionsCarmen brought her family to be photographed at our home studio by way of a referral from mutual friends. I never cease to be amazed by how small the world is, and how relationships intersect in unexpected ways.

In fact, Susan will have the chance to meet up again with the Derry family as Carmen will be part of the bridal party for a wedding we have been booked.
